About the game
Game description: An action-adventure game, third-person, in the setting of Scandinavian myths. It is a story about confronting the great evil. The action of the game takes place after the Great War of the Gods. The gods lost the war to the army of Jotunheim, but small pockets of resistance are still simmering on the earth. Dynamic and spectacular battles await players. Epic confrontations between giant Jotuns and various monsters.

Stages of work
World and Scenario Creation
To create the game scenario and the Scandinavian world, we immersed ourselves in its rich mythology, conducting in-depth research on legends, myths, and characters to capture the essence of this magical world.
Environment Creation
The world of Scandinavia was created down to the smallest detail using the Unreal Engine (C++). This allowed the atmospheric landscapes of Scandinavia to come to life. Each scene was designed to reflect the Scandinavian world’s majesty, beauty, and danger.
Character creation
The character creation process was a key aspect of the game’s development. We were looking for characters that conveyed Scandinavian mythology and could tell their own story in the game. The 3D modeling of the characters such as giant jotuns and various monsters was done using Blender. We paid attention to every detail, from anatomy to clothing, to ensure that characters fit the game world. We involved animations for walking, running, fighting, and interacting with the environment.
Development of a new combat system
One of the key highlights of the Nordic game is its dynamic and spectacular combat system. A system was designed to allow players to fight enemies of different sizes and abilities. We also used different combat mechanics, from melee combat to using special abilities.
Sound and Music
Original Scandinavian music and sounds have been carefully selected to bring the game world to life and increase player immersion.
Integration of innovative technology
We utilized advanced technologies such as:
- Meta-human to create realistic and expressive characters;
- Lumen for dynamic and realistic lighting;
- Advanced artificial intelligence systems to animate the player’s enemies and allies.
User Interface Design (UI/UX)
We paid special attention to user interface design during the game’s creation. An intuitive HUD was created that provided key information. We designed menus and controls to simplify navigation and player interaction.
Game Balance
Adjustments to enemy behavior, resource allocation, and player development throughout the game were introduced to balance difficulty and fun.
GDD Creation
The Game Design Document detailed all aspects of the game, from story and characters to level design and game mechanics. The GDD was used as a constant reference, to guarantee the desired outcome.
Results
The result of creating a Nordic game has been a resounding success thanks to the hard work and dedication of the team. The game’s setting and environments are impressively detailed and atmospheric, reflecting the beauty and danger of the Nordic world. The diverse, multi-level combat system offers an incredibly addictive gameplay, and the realism of the visual and gameplay experience through the integration of technologies such as Metahuman, Lumen, and artificial intelligence provides a unique gaming experience.
